Who am I?
I’m currently a senior at the University of Georgia pursuing a BS in Mathematics and Statistics, as well as a BSEd in Mathematics Education.
I aspire to be a high school math teacher who not only teaches her students mathematics, but also skills necessary for their success in their future educational endeavors. I also hope to make a difference in the lack of “good” math teachers, and the need for a better math curriculum as we are continually falling behind many other developed countries regarding math skills.
For these reasons I created this blog, as an outlet for my thoughts and ideas as I study several aspects of Math Education in America. My current focus is the math curriculum in secondary schools in America as compared to other countries who currently excel in the teaching of mathematics.
